Yesterday we showed off for the first time The Girl and the Robot to the public at the Mont Royal Game Society. We had a few frame rate issues but I was very happy to see that the respond was pretty good overall. I want to say thank you to Simon, Osama and Mariko for the help and support. The version that we showed should be available online soon, so stay tuned!
A music composer has joined the party!
I’m happy to announce that the very talented Eiko Ishiwata will be composing music for our game. The first piece she worked on is the Puzzle Theme used in area where the player needs to solve puzzles (shown here with some pre-alpha footage). Eiko worked on many games such as Festival of Magic and Hogworld. Also, check out her portfolio HERE for some amazing Final Fantasy remixes!
Basic pathfinding working!
This week I successfully implemented the A* (A star) algorithm. This will enable the enemies to find the shortest path to a target (usually the player’s avatar). With the basic algorithm in place, I’m thinking of making custom version as well so that the enemies can do flanking attacks and more advanced strategies. Enjoy the video and please praise Monaka’s new game title and François amazing animations!
One horde of evil robots
Hey guys! Peet just finished putting the final touch on the first enemy (the bronze robot). This basic enemy will be equipped with a puny axe and shield; our robot hero should have no problem “taking care” of him. In other news, we now have a twitter page and a book face page. So yes, we are hip and cool so please follow us :D
First promotional art ready!
It’s here ! It’s here! Monaka-san’s first promotional art for the game!
Since the relationship of our two heroes plays a lot in the gameplay, we decided to focus on them for this first poster. Enjoy!
